The finished product!

Here is the final edit of our film, we decided to change the temperature of some scenes to help with the audience response

almost there!

today was spent working with our perception film and adding the needed filters and syncing up the audio, the previous audio we had planned on using, the static sound, wasn’t really working so we’ve ended up recording our own version of the ‘What Schizophrenia sounds like’ track and added that on top of the static noise – both tracks were lowered to give the impression this is all happening inside the characters head.

Film through screenshots…

our film as it currently stands, storyboard of screenshots. We plan to add filters and the audio tomorrow, we mainly spent today getting it in order, cutting it down and adding the needed layers, layering some of the shots meant we were cutting down on our time without having to (potentially) argue about what to cut.

Opening scene, film starts with black screen with the only light appearing from outside through the letterbox, the letter has been delivered and distracts our character.

Character has collected and opened the letter, this is a longer shot so as the audience have time to understand what is happening.

“Niamh you’re not good enough for this anymore”, slightly muffled

flash – allows for another cut

Screen Shot 2013-11-06 at 23.43.26

“I’m sorry” completely clear this time

Screen Shot 2013-11-06 at 23.43.44

model turns, music switches to static, scars visible, it is apparent to the audience that the rejection has lead her to believe she’s not worth anything and has taken it upon herself to improve her looks.

as our character is retuning home, the other can still be seen playing on her mind, appearing as a figure of imagination

not physically there, to achieve this we over layered the exact same shot but slowed one down by half its speed

our character has returned home, before door closes an unknown foot forces itself in

Its editing time…

Screen Shot 2013-11-06 at 14.00.30

today we spent all day editing our film and I have to say I was surprised how much we actually got done. We also came across a few happy accidents! – the music weirdly matches up with the actors movements we discovered this happens on a number of occasions – freaky or what?! we were also over our 2 minute limit and realised instead of trying to cut down, potentially loosing some good shots we could try out overlaying a few shots which left us with a really nice effect!
